Seunghoon is currently working for Hyundai Motor Company as a Design Strategist. He is enthusiastic about envisioning futures of mobility through strategic design, user experience, service design, and critical design.
Seunghoon achieved a Master of Professional Design-Engineering in Creative Design Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design (major) and Entrepreneurship (minor) from Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST). During his bachelor’s and master’s studies, he joined a number of industry-academy collaboration design projects ranging from product and vehicle design to digital service and brand identity. The clients for the projects include LG Electronics, KIA, Hyundai Motor Company, and bbb Korea. Seunghoon planned and conducted user research according to the context of the problem and facilitated co-design workshops to prototype design concepts.
With this big interest in the front-end of the design process, Seunghoon worked on the master’s thesis to broaden our understanding of service prototypes’ roles during the fuzzy front-end of new service development by looking into three service design projects. Seunghoon continuously tries to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and implicit knowledge from practice to jump over different disciplines to expand his contribution to making positive influences on the world.
